NCERT Solutions Class 8 Maths Chapter 11 Mensuration Exercise 11.1

In this Exercise-11.1 we will come to know about Mensuration. solve problems related to perimeter and area of other plane closed figures like quadrilaterals. We will also learn about surface area and volume of solid such as cube, cuboid and cylinder.

NCERT Solutions Class 8 Maths Chapter 11 Mensuration Exercise 11.2

In this Exercise-11.2 we will come to know about the area of Trapezium, quadrilateral and polygon. To find the area of trapezium we should know the length of the parallel sides and the perpendicular distance between these two parallel sides. Half the product of the sum of the length of parallel sides and the perpendicular distance between them gives the area of trapezium.

To find the area of a general quadrilateral, we can split the quadrilateral into two triangles by drawing of its diagonals.

Similarly, to find the area of a polygon, we can split a quadrilateral into triangles and find its area.

NCERT Solutions Class 8 Maths Chapter 11 Mensuration Exercise 11.3

In this Exercise-11.3 we will come to know about Mensuration. Solid shapes like Soap, toy, pastes and snacks etc. Surface area of cube, cuboid and cylinder. Right circular cylinders.

NCERT Solutions Class 8 Maths Chapter 11 Mensuration Exercise 11.4

class 8 maths chapter 11

Introduction :

In this Exercise-11.4 we will learn about.Amount of space occupied by a three dimensional object is called its volume. We will use cubic units to find the volume of a solid. To find the volume of a cuboid we should know about it's length, breadth and height.(volume of cuboid = area of base x height). The cube is a special case of a cuboid where it's length, breadth and height is equal. Just like cuboid, cylinder has got a top and a base which are congruent and parallel to each other. It's lateral surface is also perpendicular to base just like cuboid.
