NCERT Class 8 Maths Linear Equations in One Variable Exercise 2.1 Q2.

Q3. \(\displaystyle 6=z+2\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,6=z+2\\\Rightarrow 6-2=z\\\Rightarrow 4=z\\so,\,\,z=4\end{array}\)

Q4. \(\displaystyle \frac{3}{7}+x=\frac{{17}}{7}\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,\frac{3}{7}+x=\frac{{17}}{7}\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{17}}{7}-\frac{3}{7}\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{17-3}}{7}=\frac{{14}}{7}=2\\\Rightarrow x=2\end{array}\)

Q5. \(\displaystyle 6x=12\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,6x=12\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{12}}{6}=2\\\Rightarrow x=2\end{array}\)

Q6. \(\displaystyle \frac{t}{5}=10\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,\frac{t}{5}=10\\\Rightarrow t=10\times 5=50\\\Rightarrow t=50\end{array}\)

Q7. \(\displaystyle \frac{{2x}}{3}=18\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,\frac{{2x}}{3}=18\\\Rightarrow 2x=18\times 3=54\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{54}}{2}=27\\\Rightarrow x=27\end{array}\)

Q8. \(\displaystyle 1.6=\frac{y}{{1.5}}\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,1.6=\frac{y}{{1.5}}\\\Rightarrow 1.6\times 1.5=y\\\Rightarrow \frac{{16}}{{10}}\times \frac{{15}}{{10}}=y\\\Rightarrow \frac{{240}}{{100}}=y\\\Rightarrow 2.4=y\\\Rightarrow y=2.4\end{array}\)

Q9. \(\displaystyle 7x-9=16\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,7x-9=16\\\Rightarrow 7x=16+9=25\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{25}}{7}\end{array}\)

Class 8 Maths Exercise 2.1 (Page-24)

Q10. \(\displaystyle 14y-8=13\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,14y-8=13\\\Rightarrow 14y=13+8=21\\\Rightarrow y=\frac{{21}}{{14}}=\frac{3}{2}\\\Rightarrow y=\frac{3}{2}\end{array}\)

Q11. \(\displaystyle 17+6p=9\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,17+6p=9\\\Rightarrow 6p=9-17=-8\\\Rightarrow p=\frac{{-8}}{6}=\frac{{-4}}{3}\\\Rightarrow p=\frac{{-4}}{3}\end{array}\)

Q12. \(\displaystyle \frac{x}{3}+1=\frac{7}{{15}}\)

Solution :

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l}Given\,by,\,\frac{x}{3}+1=\frac{7}{{15}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{x}{3}=\frac{7}{{15}}-1=\frac{7}{{15}}-\frac{1}{1}\\\Rightarrow \frac{x}{3}=\frac{{7-15}}{{15}}=\frac{{-8}}{{15}}\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{-8}}{{15}}\times 3=\frac{{-8}}{5}\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{{-8}}{5}\end{array}\)
